Mayka - Har Naari Sashakt

At Nari Pragati Social Foundation (NPSF), we believe that empowered women are the cornerstone of a strong and progressive society. MAYKA – Har Naari Sashakt is dedicated to the holistic empowerment of women across social, economic, educational, and health dimensions. This project nurtures confidence, capability, and self-reliance in women and girls from marginalized communities.

Key Initiatives Under MAYKA

1. Nai Dagar Naya Safar (September 7, 2021 – 2022)

Under this initiative, NPSF, in collaboration with the State Bank of India (RBO-2), opened 3,000+ Jan-Dhan and zero balance accounts for women and their families, promoting financial inclusion and independence.

2. Dil Se Dil Ki Baat (April 25, 2021 – Nov 30, 2021)

During the pandemic, NPSF conducted expert-led sessions featuring senior officials like DCP Smt. Vrinda Shukla, DCMO, DPO (WCD), along with advocates, psychologists, doctors, and other professionals. Topics included vaccination, mental health, immunity, legal rights, and workplace safety. These interactive sessions were broadcast live on Facebook, enabling wide public participation. Over 25,000 women and families benefited through expert guidance and real-time discussions.

3. Jago Nari Jago (January 19, 2021 – 2024)

In collaboration with the Women and Child Welfare Department, U.P, NPSF has organized workshops in schools, villages, and slums to inform underprivileged women and girls about key government schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Ujjwala Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and others. Over 3,000 women and girls have benefited so far.

4. Mission Shakti (February 27, 2021 – 2025)

Inspired by Mission Shakti, launched by Hon’ble UP CM Yogi Adityanath ji for women’s safety, NPSF started this initiative with the support of the Police Commissionerate and local Thana SHOs.

  • 5,000+ women and girls empowered through safety workshops.
  • Rescue of trafficked girls from Bengal & Jharkhand with DCP Women Safety Smt. Vrinda Shukla.
  • Honored by Police Commissionerate for outstanding contribution.
  • Domestic cases resolved in NCR with police support.

5. Suraksha Samarthya (October 7, 2024 – Ongoing)

A key initiative under Mayka – Women Empowerment, launched after the tragic rape and murder of a 31-year-old female doctor on 9 August 2024 at R.G. Kar Medical College in Kolkata, West Bengal. Suraksha Samarthya aims to reduce incidents of rape, sexual assault, and violence through self-defense training and awareness.

  • Led by Shri Kamal Thapa, a 7th Degree Black Belt.
  • Daily self-defense classes conducted for NPSF children.
  • Sessions held in schools, villages, and societies.
  • Over 2,000 girls empowered so far—and growing.
